about this role
PANGAIA is searching for a Production Assistant for a new, exciting venture that will be launching in partnership with PANGAIA. You will be responsible for the overall execution and development of a specified set of products, from concept through production. This role aims to collaborate with Product Design, Garment Tech and Production teams to execute product initiatives. You will coordinate and keep the fabric/trim/supplier deliverables on time and within quality and costing targets and go above and beyond to ensure the right product is developed in accordance with the company requirements.

a day in the life

  • Management of production timelines, monitoring of fabric inventory and responsible for replenishment orders, creating and reviewing reports and recommending solutions to exceptions
  • Work closely with production partners and monitor production status of all orders by tracking orders from PO to Ship
  • Follow-up with external factories to support Product Developer along development process and ensure production of samples are executed correctly and timely (fabrics, trims and garments)
  • Request, maintain and document raw material testing (lab dips and bulk submits creating library, tracking approvals, and maintaining records)
  • Assist in forecasting, to help supply chain partners in planning production capacity (mills; dye-houses; garment manufacturers)
  • Assist in the management of sourcing activities, identifying and onboarding of new vendors and support tech teams along system integration processes
  • Cross-functional interaction with all departments to communicate production status and exceptions

Requirements

  • 3+ years of production assistant/coordinator experience within apparel industry
  • Must have basic knowledge of garment construction, as well as technical knowledge of production and costing
  • Proven experience in managing production orders and monitoring status across multiple tiers (end-to-end value chain)
  • Strong data management and data analysis skills, in particular related to forecasting and replenishment activities to support production and capacity planning
  • Experience in sourcing new vendors and effectively onboarding them
  • Passion for sustainability and knowledge of current environmental issues surrounding consumer product
  • Strong communication and collaboration with cross functional partners required
  • Experience in a high-growth start-up environment is preferable
  • Written and oral fluency in both Portuguese and English, with the ability to clearly, concisely, and accurately communicate technical product issues
