about this role
PANGAIA is searching for a Product Developer for a new, exciting venture that will be launching in partnership with PANGAIA.
You will be responsible for the overall execution and development of a specified set of products, from concept through production. This role collaborates with Product Design, Garment Tech and Production teams to execute product initiatives. You will coordinate and keep the fabric/trim/supplier deliverables on time and within quality and costing targets.

a day in the life
- Oversee the development to commercial viability of product designs by managing the product life cycle time in collaboration with Design, Garment Tech and Production teams
- Communicating deadlines with internal (Design, Garment Tech, Production) and external teams (vendors and suppliers) to ensure product delivery dates are met
- Liaising with the mills certifications, lab dips, sampling yarn, and trialing yarns and fibers at factories into blends and constructions to explore the innovations’ potential
- Prepare and attend fittings and support the product development of styles, communicating with factories to ensure timely development of proto-types and pre-production samples, and action al session outcomes
- Maintains Product Lifecycle Management system (PLM) with current colors, bill of materials, costing, and technical sketches
- Counter-sources products to effectively build products at the best cost, quality, and compliance
- Cross-functional interaction with all departments to communicate the product roadmap progress and critical path
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in apparel development, with versatile skills across multiple categories being beneficial
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in textiles or equivalent field
- Experience with PLM, project management and working to timelines
- Understanding of CLO-3D or similar will be beneficial
- Expert knowledge of garment construction techniques and processes
- Solid understanding of fit and pattern
- Very open and willing to learn, while finding solutions to implement new materials
- Passion for sustainability and knowledge of current environmental issues surrounding consumer product
- Strong communication and collaboration with cross functional partners required; ability and influence to drive change
- Experience in a high-growth start-up environment is preferable
- Written and oral fluency in both Portuguese and English, with the ability to communicate technical product issues clearly, concisely, and accurately
