We are looking for talented and hard-working Buyers, or fantastic commercial people to join our team as Buyers!

Our product offering is at the heart of our customer experience. When customers open the Getir app, we want to delight and surprise them with our range and selection, whether it’s the everyday essentials that they need in a hurry, or a lovely bottle of wine for a Friday evening.

You’ll be a proud member of Getir Iberia’s Commercial Team covering Category Management and Buying, working with talented and great partners (suppliers). You’ll report to the Category Buying Manager, but will also have a close working relationship across our functions - giving you an opportunity to work with agility in the org.


What will I do in this Buying Manager role?
  • Help implement Getir’s product portfolio amp; buying strategy for Portugal. Go down the unconventional way if you believe that’s best for the business.
  • Building close and strong relationships with our suppliers, to ensure the best assortment (No one knows better the assortment than you).
  • Working closely with Demand and Commercial to assure the right quantities to buy for each of our stores.
  • Be comfortable and aware we are a hands-on business, so you will have admin in this role as you learn Getir’s model including setting up new deals, suppliers and lines, adjusting our customer shopping journey to optimise to our commercial KPI’s and work to our speed.
  • Learn from an experienced team, and be given the opportunity to develop the required Trading and Selling skills to become equipped to develop your career and potential at Getir. You will have your own customer portfolio to look after and be expected to lead and support other commercial projects.
  • Leverage existing rapport with suppliers, but also identify and develop new suppliers for Getir, across the complete spectrum of entrepreneurs like us to national and Global brands and wholesalers.
  • Establish an overall product portfolio that goes beyond meeting customer expectations, resulting in uncalculated customer delight.
  • Create, activate and maintain the product information of your categories.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience in the Food/FMCG retail sector in Buying and/or Demand Planning. Consulting, Banking or eCommerce experience is a plus
  • A real track record of achievement with a ‘get up and go’ spirit.
  • Enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial mindset. You’ll want to take ownership of your responsibilities and show a real drive to get things done at pace.
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills, with a natural ability to work with data.
  • First and foremost a collaborative working and commitment to the team, we want you to enjoy working at Getir. We don’t have a hierarchical or slow paced process driven culture. Energy and sharp minds are welcome, collaborative and can do approaches are a must!
  • A hands-on approach. No job is too big or too small, and you’ll be comfortable getting stuck into everything in our model in the Business and in Commercial. This is key to the hustle and bustle of our culture.
  • The ability to learn quickly and adapt your strategies and tactics to the dynamic world of super-fast delivery. Super-fast delivery means sometimes doing other things super-fast.
  • Negotiation skills. These may not be fully developed (yet), but you will have a strong foundation and need to be comfortable negotiating and are keen to learn from our experienced team..
