Job Description

Since 2014, Acast has been creating the world’s most valuable podcast marketplace, building the technology which connects podcast creators, advertisers and listeners.
Its marketplace spans more than 100,000 podcasts, 2,300 advertisers and 400 million monthly listens. Crucially, those listens are monetized wherever they happen - across any podcasting app or other listening platform.
The company operates worldwide and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. Acast is listed on the Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market (ACAST.ST)
About the roleAs an Engineering Manager at Acast you will be the people manager for all engineers in your team and work closely with our tech leadership team to continuously deliver value and make sure that the members in your team are growing. The role is part time people manager and part time individual contributor and you will build and support a team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, and feedback. You will drive execution by organising team work, setting goals, and holding the team accountable.
In addition to your own team, you will also be contributing to and influencing the engineering organisations direction and culture with other engineering managers and directors. Moreover, your work will cross over with Product, as you work with your team's Product Manager to bring relevant context into the team and communicate expectations about delivery.
Who you areWe are looking for someone who truly enjoys developing and growing people. Leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills are among your strengths. We also believe that you advocate agile software development and engineering best practices. It's important that you are curious and can adapt quickly and enjoy a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
The systems are written in Node.js and Typescript and are hosted on AWS so you are expected to be familiar with and interested in these technologies. In this role, you will stay technically connected to the team as an IC. This technical leadership could be things like code reviews, mob programming, helping the teams structure technical decisions, etc.
Where you will be locatedMost of our teams are hybrids with some members co-located in offices and some working remotely. With a remote first way of working we want you to feel productive regardless of work location!Where? For this role, it can be within the UK or Sweden.Working hours? We want to avoid teams distributed over time zones, so this team will operate within the CET time zone for collaboration. This setup allows us for more flexibility and work-life balance.Acast is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin or any of the other wonderful characteristics that make us different.
Culture is our number one priority as a business. We believe people come first, and we work every day to enable autonomy, continuous improvement and bring out the best in people. We’re global and have remote teams, so it’s even more important that we strive for an open, inclusive and caring environment where everyone feels visible and welcome. We consider ourselves a modern organization driven by strong values to create the best, most fulfilling and nurturing culture.
We very much look forward to finding the next great person to join our cause!
